What Drywall Repair Means in a City This Old
Drywall repair in Chattanooga is not one job. It is a doorknob hole in a rental in Brainerd, a ceiling seam that has cracked open on Signal Mountain, a whole wall of water-damaged drywall in East Brainerd, and a plaster wall in St. Elmo that somebody patched with drywall in 1988 and did badly. What they have in common is that the wall has to end up flat, the texture has to match what is around it, and a painter has to be able to roll straight over the drywall repair without seeing where it starts.

- Under $3,000. No state contractor licence and no Home Improvement licence is required. Most single-room drywall repair lands here — a few holes, a cracked ceiling seam, one sheet of board. If a drywall contractor tells you a $600 patch legally requires a state licence, that is a sales line, not the rule.
- $3,000 to $24,999. A Home Improvement licence is required for residential remodelling in this range in Hamilton County, along with Bradley, Davidson, Haywood, Knox, Marion, Robertson, Rutherford and Shelby.
